Neil McInnes

Neil McInnes joined Bindmans in January 2008 and almost exclusively practices in the field of serious fraud cases involving company directors, accountants, tax advisers, lawyers, brokers and other professionals. He has significant experience of cases brought by the SFO, RCPO and other criminal investigation agencies in the UK and internationally.

Neil commenced his legal career as a criminal defence barrister at Doughty Street Chambers, where he was a tenant from 2000 to 2002. After leaving chambers, Neil worked for five and half years at two international law firms in the City: first within a specialist commercial litigation group at Herbert Smith, before joining DLA Piper in 2005 to pursue his interests in regulatory and business crime.

Neil is experienced in advising clients on a wide range of complex fraud and other regulatory criminal matters including those involving allegations of corruption, insider dealing, tax evasion, and money laundering. He has particular expertise handling criminal investigations spanning multiple jurisdictions, and providing advice prior to charge.

Neil was called to the Bar in 1999. He has a BA(Hons) degree from Cambridge University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the University of Westminster.
